    HURLEY — Hurley Superintendent Kevin Genisot provided an update on the district’s response to the coronavirus pandemic Sunday, laying out its priorities in the coming days. Genisot wrote the district would be announcing updates in the near future on its top two priorities — providing meals to any students that need them and continuing to teach while classes are cancelled.     SAN PEDRO, Calif. - Anna Mae Strand, 94, an Ironwood native, long-time resident, and beloved mother, grandmother and aunt passed away unexpectedly in San Pedro on March 3, 2020. She was born on Jan. 2, 1926, in Ironwood, Michigan, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Denocenti) DeSantis. Anna graduated from St. Ambrose High School in Ironwood as valedictorian in the class of 1943.     HURLEY, Wis. — Cecilia Stanczak, 92, a life-long resident of Ironwood, Michigan, passed away on March 11, 2020, at the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Hurley, surrounded by her family. Cecilia was born on March 10, 1928, in Ironwood. She attended Ironwood schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School. She worked at various factories sewing sportswear.
