    IRONWOOD - Ironwood's Galaxies may be entering Michigan's Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame. The four-man group that performed in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when rock was young, is in the running for the hall in online voting. Of the four members, only Andy Abraham, 75, of Hurley, is still alive. Other Galaxies included Bernie Michelli, Danny Sullivan and Greg Winn.     HURLEY - The Hurley Lions Club, with 40 to 50 members, is active in providing eyeglasses to the second and third world. To do this, the club maintains an old mailbox it painted purple and stationed in Giovanoni's store for people to drop off old eyeglasses. Smaller containers are stationed around the area for collection at other locations, including some eye doctor offices.     BESSEMER — An Ashland man was remanded to district court Tuesday, the third co-defendant to be remanded in a Gogebic County drug case. Corey Allan Tutor, 34, was facing one 10-year felony count of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly person-loitering about an illegal business, however Gogebic County Prosecutor Nick Jacobs said the testing of evidence in the case didn’t bear out the initial charges.     BESSEMER, Mich. - Darcey Jean McGowan, 64, of Bessemer, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, May 1, 2017. Darcey was born on Sept. 17, 1952, in Bessemer, the daughter of Arne Salonen and the late Grace Salonen (Olsen). Darcey graduated in 1970 from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer. She then went on to Gogebic Community College in Ironwood and then University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, graduating in 1975 with a bachelor degree in special education.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Kathleen "Kay" Alicia Johnson, 91, triumphed over death and entered her eternal home on May 4, 2017, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield, where she had been a resident since 2011. Kay was born to Robert and Agnes Marriott on Feb. 13, 1926, in Yorkshire County, England. Her family later moved to Ecchinswell, Hampshire, England, where she lived until coming to the United States.
