    IRONWOOD - The Luther L. Wright School parking lot would normally be deserted on a late July day, but it was the scene of 38 huge military vehicles on Thursday evening. Area residents can rest assured there was no local invasion.   • Car crashes into U.S. 2 building

    IRONWOOD - The manager of the Ready Money store on Cloverland Drive was not injured when a car crashed through the front of the building around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Christina Youngberg said the noise was similar to a bomb exploding when the vehicle crashed into the building. She was sitting behind her desk in the store when she heard the crash.     ASHLAND, Wis. - Dolores Elaine Sorrels, 88, of Gurney, Wis., died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in Ashland. She was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Twin Valley, Minn., daughter of the late August and Freida (Gade) Luedke. She was a longtime Gurney resident. On Oct. 15, 1946, she was united in marriage with Cyril P.     GREENLAND — Valerie Talsma was named Homemaker of the Year at the Ontonagon County Fair last weekend. Talsma entered the most quality items in the fair to receive the honor.
