"Dick" Eklund, 74, of Ironwood, Mich., died Friday, June 10, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, from complications of a stroke suffered in his home on Sunday, May 29. Dick was born June 13, 1941, in Ironwood, son of the late Arnold and Priscilla (Simmons) Eklund, and attended St. Ambrose High School.     BERGLAND, Mich. — Patricia Ann Cook, 75, a lifelong resident of Bergland, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, June 11, 2016. Pat was born on Aug. 22, 1940, in Bergland, the daughter of Lyle John “Johnny” and Mildred Mae (Osborne) Fruik. She attended Bergland High School and graduated in 1958.     MERCER, Wis. - Mercer held its 10th annual Lupine Junefest on Saturday. Around the area the sun was shining, and the lupine was out in full bloom for the event. Many bicyclists showed-up to participate in the fundraiser ride. Bikers could choose from a 10-, 26-, 28-, or 50-mile ride along scenic county highways.     IRONWOOD - Women from across the Northwoods learned how to shoot rifles, hand guns, historic firearms, and even throw tomahawks and knives, Saturday at the Superior Range Shooters Club.     ONTONAGON — Ontonagon County will celebrate its heritage of mining and lumbering and fishing at the first Copper Fest celebration June 24-26. County-wide, many of the events will point to those historic industries. On Friday, June 24, mine tours and lighthouse tours will be offered, as well as a beach bonfire.
