    By TOM LAVENTURE [email protected] IRONWOOD — Two new area COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend in Gogebic County and Iron County, Wisconsin. The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department has reported a seventh positive COVID-19 case for Gogebic County. After reporting two new cases last Friday, the Iron County Health Department in Hurley said its sixth confirmed COVID-19 case was reported on Saturday. JoAnn was born on Oct. 2, 1953, at Divine Infant Hospital in Wakefield, a daughter of Eino Matt and June Johanna (Wiita) Haukkala. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1971. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob “Farmer” Gierl, on Oct. 22, 2018.
