The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department has reported a seventh positive COVID-19 case for Gogebic County. After reporting two new cases last Friday, the Iron County Health Department in Hurley said its sixth confirmed COVID-19 case was reported on Saturday. JoAnn was born on Oct. 2, 1953, at Divine Infant Hospital in Wakefield, a daughter of Eino Matt and June Johanna (Wiita) Haukkala. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1971. BESSEMER, Mich. — Arlene M. Gierl, 87, of Bessemer, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020. Arlene was born on Sept. 6, 1932, in York, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Calvin and Elnora Mills.
