SAXON, Wis. - Attendance at the 2014 Iron County Fair lsat weekend topped 5,000. According to fair officials, 5,138 wrist bands were issued throughout the weekend, with children 5 and under getting in for free. A total of 337 exhibitors participated in the fair, with 1,253 exhibits on display. Results for the exhibits, horseshoe tournament, horse pull and pool tournament were released. HURLEY - As of Friday afternoon, 588 people had signed up to take part in today's 46th Paavo Nurmi Marathon. During registration at the Hurley K-12 School, race officials said there were 48 teams signed up for the five-member relay race, 184 people signed up for the full marathon, 152 for the half-marathon, and six teams for the two-person relay, as of Friday afternoon.
