    CHARLOTTE, Mich. - Ellen S. Kangas, 94, passed away on Aug. 4, 2018, at her daughter Diane's home in Charlotte. Ellen was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Ironwood, the daughter of George and Senia (Nasi) Lassila. She married Matt H. Kangas who preceded her in death on March 5, 1987. Ellen was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis K. Nylund; brothers, Edwin and Ray; and sisters, Evelyn Lassila and Elsie Stella. Gogebic County saw 25.6 percent of voters participate in the election, while 30 percent of registered Ontonagon voters cast ballots in that county.
