IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP — The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department released the names of those in the car involved in a single-vehicle crash that killed two teens near Little Girl’s Point Saturday morning. Lauren Powless, 18, and Madeline Jackson, 15 died when the car they were in left the road and hit a tree. The third person in the car, Zachery Hammon, 20, survived the crash and walked to a nearby house to report the accident. Jodie was born in Ironwood to Albert and Mary Ann (Conhartoski) Rye on Jan. 11, 1963. She graduated Ironwood Catholic High School in 1981. TOMAHAWK, Wis. - James P. "Gordy" Koski, 67, of Tomahawk, died peacefully at his home on April 29, 2019, just a week before his 68th birthday. Gordy was born to Gordon and Genevieve (Gay) Koski in Ironwood, Mich., on May 3, 1951. He played football for the Ironwood Red Devils at Luther L. RIB LAKE, Wis. — Carolyn J. Martinson, 65, of Rib Lake, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019, with her daughters at her side. Carolyn was born on Nov. 21, 1953, the daughter of Robert and Marylyn (Grayson) Gerbig. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1971.
