    ONTONAGON — Lisa Johnson, the new Ontonagon Area School District’s superintendent, attended her first Board of Education regular meeting on Monday. A major item on the long agenda was board approval of a resolution for a bond proposal on the November ballot to raise money to purchase four new school buses. Rose was born on Feb. 24, 1927, in Bessemer, a daughter of Anton and Rose (Markovich) Cerne. She attended A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer and graduated in 1945. Rose was employed at various offices in Racine, Wisconsin, Chicago and Los Angeles.     BESSEMER, Mich. — Priscilla Ann “Pat” Duchaine, 85, formerly of Bessemer, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022. Priscilla was born on Feb. 10, 1937, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry Theodore and Marilee (Card) Boynton. On March 3, 1956, Pat was united in marriage to Robert H. Duchaine. They celebrated more than 65 years of marriage before his passing on Nov. 17, 2021. Born in Maple Grove, on July 4, 1931, to John and Maude (Jenkins) Norman, Bertie was raised in the beautiful Upper Peninsula where she met and married Clifford "Bud" May.
