    IRONWOOD - For Hurley, eight was great, but nine straight Border Bowl wins over Ironwood was even better as the Midgets rolled over the Red Devils 48-6 on a soggy Longyear Field Friday night. The series began in 1919 and the two ancient rivals have met 82 times on the gridiron.     MARQUETTE - A 27-foot Department of Natural Resources boat was named for former DNR deputy director Frank Opolka in a ceremony Wednesday in Marquette. The boat was one of three acquired through federal Port Security Grant Program funding. Opolka was responsible for DNR operations in the Upper Peninsula. The boat is docked at the Presque Isle Marina in Marquette and is used for patrols on Lake Superior, from Marquette County on west.     When you have been involved with an organization as long as I have with the Ontonagon Labor Festival, you have many memories. For more than 50 years, with many chairmen and groups, the annual event has been part of my life. It has become more than a local celebration. He'll tell you that his exhibit "Through the Eyes" on the Vietnam war is a product of his working through his PTSD, what Agent Orange has done to his body, his anger, his rage.     IRON BELT, Wis. - Larry Gene Kangas, 72, of Island Lake in Iron Belt, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at home, following a brave two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on the Kangas family farm in Iron Belt on Aug. 11, 1942, to Laila and Eino Kangas, and his given Finnish name was Lauri.     DULUTH, Minn. - The Lord called Dorothy Casey home on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014. She was a resident of KeenAgers in Wakefield, Mich. Dorothy was the eldest of four children born to Frank and Inez Nicol. She was born on June 20, 1920, in Webb, Saskatchewan Canada.
