    HURLEY — The Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce raised around $3,000 for the Hurley Fire Department’s All-Terrain Vehicle-Snowmobile Rescue Unit at Saturday’s Festival Italiano. The chamber proclaimed the event a big success, with crowds packing the downtown area. The money was raised with the 50-50 ticket sales. He was born Feb. 19, 1938, in Ewen, to Walter and Mamie (Anderson) Sormula. Norman attended Ewen High School and later worked in construction for 30 years in Kenosha, Wis.     IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. — Gerald D. Kimball, 75, of Ironwood, died on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, in the loving care of his daughter, Geri Lynn Dabb, in Iron Mountain. He was born July 7, 1942, in Ironwood, the son of the late Benjamin and Gladys (Kennedy) Kimball. On Nov. 15, 1968, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia A. Pachmayer in Bessemer. She preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 2005. Per Gerald’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
