    IRON RIVER, Mich. - Howard "Jim" J. Madson, 87, of Watersmeet, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at Northstar Health System in Iron River. He was born Oct. 17, 1926, in Merrill, Wis., the son of the late Carl and Catherine (Hansen) Madson. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Jim married the former Sylvia Scheu on April 12, 1947, in Merrill.
