    WAKEFIELD - Students at the Wakefield-Marenisco School District will be volunteering to help the city with a few different projects expected to start next week. Wakefield's City Council Monday approved a proposal to allow students in Chris Tweiten's Life Skills class to perform some tasks for the city. "What we have is, for this Life Skills class, we're kind of doing community enrichment projects and the city has volunteered to let us work with them," Tweiten said.     HURLEY - Students at the Hurley K-12 School are collaborating on a variety of subjects, from wood shop to art to science, to help create a community-based environment. Amy Nosal, AmeriCorps Vista employee with the Iron County University of Wisconsin-Extension office, has been working with students to create a non-motorized trail, extending from Michigan into Iron County.   • Bridge struck by trash truck collapses in Detroit

    DETROIT (AP) - A pedestrian bridge collapsed onto a Detroit freeway after a trash truck struck the overpass early Friday, leaving the truck driver dead and snarling rush hour traffic, officials said. Two other vehicles were struck by debris, but no one else was injured, Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw said at the scene.     BESSEMER - Even triple overtime didn't seem like enough to settle this one. Hurley's Devin Czerneski ran in from one yard out in the third OT to give Hurley a 32-26 Great Western Conference victory over the Gogebic Miners Friday night at Massie Field.
