RICHMOND, Va. - John Chaich, Jr., 88, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2017. He was born Nov. 7, 1927. He achieved his B.S. degree at Wisconsin State College, and after working at the James River Corporation for 34 years, he went on to become President and CEO of the Meridian and Bigbee Railroad. Roen Salvage Company was awarded the $993,000 dredging contract to remove approximately 18,000 cubic yards of material from the marina’s main channel and do some repairs to the harbor’s levees, according to Lynn Rose, a spokesperson with the Army Corps in Detroit.
