BESSEMER, Mich. - Marie Antoinette Nelson, 77, a lifelong resident of Bessemer, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, with her family at her side at Court Manor in Ashland, Wis. Marie was born on March 1, 1942, in Wakefield, the daughter of Arthur and Antoinette Niemi. She was a graduate of A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer. IRONWOOD, Mich. - Rodney F. Johnson was born Jan. 21, 1937, in Bessemer, Mich., to his parents Gen Stanlake and Clarence Johnson. Rod passed away Oct. 14, 2019. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and, after his time in the service, he moved to Chicago, where he met his wife, Joy. He worked for CW Transport until they closed their doors.
