The funds will again come through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. Erickson said it’s hoped 10 to 12 houses will be demolished in 2019 in continuation of the Hardest Hit grant program that has resulted in dozens of eyesores being eliminated throughout the city. MANSON, N.C. - Rudolph J. Mukavitz, former Ironwood resident, passed away at his home on Kerr Lake in Manson on Nov. 16, 2018. He graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1952 and married Margie Wiitala on Aug. 7, 1954. IRONWOOD, Mich. — Shirley Kapitan, 92, of Ironwood, passed away on Nov. 20, 2018. Shirley was born on Feb. 25, 1926, in Superior, Wis. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Superior and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. In 1952, she married William “Bill” Kapitan. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2002. IRONWOOD, Mich. — Donna J. Ellis, 72, of Saxon, Wis., passed away on Nov. 23, 2018, in Ironwood. Donna was born on Aug. 7, 1946, in Ironwood, the daughter of Walter and Leone (Blondie) Damgard. She was born on Aug. 6, 1927, in Ironwood, a daughter of Conrad Eric and Maria Alfreda (Hulstrom) Pearson. She attended Luther L. Wright High School and graduated in 1945.
