    By RICHARD JENKINS [email protected] ESCANABA - Tom Casperson, who represented Gogebic and Ontonagon counties in Lansing for seven years as a state senator, died this weekend at the age of 61.     By RICHARD JENKINS [email protected] IRONWOOD — A total of 37 people are dead in Gogebic and Ontonagon counties in connection with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with another 13 deaths in Iron County, Wisconsin, related to COVID-19. As of Saturday, a total of 23 people had died in Gogebic County over the course of the pandemic, according to data on the state’s coronavirus website.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. – Mary Diana (Sjoblom) Marten, 63, of Wakefield, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020. Mary was born on Sept. 20, 1957, in Wakefield, a daughter of Theodore S. and Ida D. Sjoblom. She had resided in Wakefield, Cudahy, Wisconsin and Albuquerque, New Mexico. On Aug. 30, 1986, Mary was united in marriage to Daniel M. Marten. She was a certified nursing assistant and worked as a residential aide at a local group home.     MARSHFIELD, Wis. — Judy Kasten, 57, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, at the Marshfield WI hospital after a short battle with COVID. Judy was the daughter of Norman and Rachel Kasten. She graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek High School in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in 1982. Judy worked as a caretaker at nursing homes for many years in Phelps, Wisconsin, and Ontonagon, Michigan.
