    IRONWOOD — Area residents may obtain Christmas tree permits for $5 for the Ottawa National Forest at the Ironwood office or visitor centers before heading out. As part of the “Every Kid in a Park” initiative, the U.S. Forest Service is offering one free holiday tree-cutting permit to any fourth grader who presents a valid free tree pass at participating Forest Service units.     IRONWOOD, Mich. — Barry Klein, 74, of Ironwood, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at home, with his loving wife by his side, following a three-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Paterson, N.J., son of the late Joseph and Nellie (Maines) Klein, and graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in 1958. He then attended Montclair State College in Clifton, N.J. prior to serving stateside in the U.S. Air Force.     BRUCE CROSSING, Mich. — Edward H. Johnson, 77, of Bruce Crossing, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2015, at his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Bruce Crossing to Hubert and Edna (Pesonen) Johnson. He married Charlotte Elliott in Wakefield in 1960. Ed worked as a truck driver for the Co-op, and later worked in the maintenance department at the White Pine Copper Mine until his retirement.
