    By RICHARD JENKINS [email protected] BESSEMER — An Odanah, Wis., man facing two Gogebic County drug charges was arraigned in Gogebic County Circuit Court Tuesday. Carlos Jordan, 30, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine and disorderly person-loitering near an illegal business. The first charge is a felony, with a potential maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and/or $15,000, while the disorderly person charge is a misdemeanor, with a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and/or a $500 fine.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - J.F. Speck, 89, of Ironwood, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at his home. He was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Montrose, Colo., the son of the late McHenry "Mack" and Rachel (Page) Speck. J.F. attended schools in Colorado. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. On June 8, 1948, he married Peggy Ann Davis. She preceded him in death in October of 1992. J.F. was the foreman at Simpson Electric & Molding Company in Lac du Flambeau for more than 20 years.... Full story

    TROUT CREEK, Mich. — Jean C. “Queenie” Cronkright, 87, of Trout Creek, passed away on Feb. 23, 2017, at her home with those who loved her at her side. She was born in Calderwood on Nov. 11, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles and Vesper (Heebner) Pittsley. Jean attended school in Kenton and Trout Creek. She married Daniel Cronkright in Kenton on Oct. 25, 1947. They resided in Trout Creek, where they raised their children. He preceded her in death. Jean’s joy in life came from spending time with her family and friends who she loved deeply.... Full story
