James A. 'Cheeks' Rigoni

IRONWOOD, Mich. — James A. “Cheeks” Rigoni, 55, of Ironwood, died Friday, June 14, 2013, in Ironwood.

He was born March 3, 1958, in Ironwood, son of the late James and Helen (Jussila) Rigoni. He attended Ironwood schools, graduating from the Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1976.

He had served in the United States Navy, and he was honorably discharged on Dec. 29, 1988. He had been employed as a baker at Rigoni’s Bakery in Ironwood.

He is survived by one brother, Robert (Paula) Rigoni, of Ironwood; two sisters, Janice (Jeff) Cox and Debbie (Kevin) Maki, both of Ironwood; eight nephews and nieces; and 11 great-nephews and great-nieces.

Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley.

A private family service was held.

Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.

Arrangements are by Range Funeral Service and Crematory, Ketola-Burla Funeral Home of Ironwood.
