June C. Saari

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — June C. Saari; 86, of Elkhorn, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center Fond du Lac.

She was born June 20, 1927, in Saxon, the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Marie (Ylitalo) DuCharme. She was united in marriage to Russell M. Saari on Oct. 3, 1953 in Ironwood, Mich. He died Jan. 1, 2002.

June was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed working in her yard, especially her flower garden. Her favorite thing to do was to shop. Her greatest love was her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her five children, Deborah A. (Craig) Steffen of Burlington, and Russell S. (Jeannie) Saari, Kurt D. (Barbara) Saari, Pamela M. Saari, all of Elkhorn, and John Saari of Madison; 10 grandchildren, Cassandra (Jared) Owen, Amanda Steffen, Russell L., Matthew, Erik, Andrew and Grant Saari, Richard (Angel) Smith, Joseph (Cassie) Kandarapally and Jasmine Kandarapally; three brothers, Frank (Carol) DuCharme of Iron Belt, James (Mary Jo) DuCharme of Champlin, Minn., and Robert (Gail) DuCharme of Ironwood; two sisters-in-law, Carol DuCharme of Wausaukee, and Helen DuCharme of Milwaukee; and by a host of other relatives and friends. 

June was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Russell; and five brothers, Arthur, Earl, Gerald, Barry and Paul DuCharme.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory at 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, Wis.

Inurnment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
