Sharon Gail Obremski

MADISON, Wis. - Sharon Gail Obremski, 71, of Ironwood, Mich., formerly of Marenisco, Mich., passed away June 26, 2014, in Madison.

She was born in Wakefield, Mich., on Jan. 6, 1943, a daughter of John and Kathleen (Starkweather) LaBarge.

Sharon volunteered for many years for Wakefield Head Start. Most recently, she worked at Randall's Bakery in Wakefield.

Sharon adored her grandchildren. Every weekend was spent with them, concluding with a favorite Sunday meal. She loved watching her grandchildren play in sports, reading, coffee klatching, watching "Wheel of Fortune" and babysitting her granddog, Muffin.

She will be sorely missed by many.

Sharon is survived by sons, David (Tanya) Obremski, Kevin Obremski and Bryan Obremski, all of Ironwood; daughter, Lisa (Dennis) Svoke, of Ironwood; grandchildren, Neil and Jeremy Obremski and Lexi and Sophie Svoke, all of Ironwood; brothers, John LaBarge, of Lac du Flambeau, Wis., and Michael Pikka, of Ironwood; nephew, Robert LaBarge, of Ironwood; special cousins, Nina (Don) LaPrairie, of Waukesha, Wis .; and special family member Mary (Ossi) Laitamaki, of Wakefield.

Besides her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Janeen LaBarge; and a special aunt, Julie Hollis.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at the Marenisco Cemetery, with the Rev. Roy Speck officiating.

Luncheon will follow at the Marenisco Township Hall.
