Mercer voters return most incumbents to office

MERCER, Wis. - Tuesday's election was largely a day of victory for the sitting politicians in Mercer, after the majority of officeholders on the ballot won re-election.

Mercer Chairman Jim Kichak defeated challenger Jim Davis by a vote total of 410 to 228 to be elected for another two-year term.

The town's incumbent supervisors, Bonnie Banaszak and Jeff Stenberg, also overcame a challenge from Bill Brundage, where the top two vote getters won seats on the town board. Banaszak and Stenberg got 462 and 364 votes, respectively, with Brundage receiving 263 votes.

Current town clerk Christan Brandt and treasurer Lin Miller were unchallenged in their bids for re-election. Brandt got 603 votes and Miller got 590 votes.

In the race for commissioner for Mercer's Sanitary District No. 1, Adam Kussard was the lone challenger to unseat a Mercer incumbent, getting 105 votes to incumbent Lucien Perron's 43.
