Earl A. Louze

WAUSAU, Wis. - Earl A. Louze, age 94, of Wausau, died Wednesday April 15, 2015.

Earl was born in 1920 in Thief River Falls, Minn., to the late Arthur and Mary (Schalz) Louze.

Earl attended Wausau Technical School, where he studied drafting and printing. He served in the Army in the 6th Calvary Recon Group from 1942-1945, and fought in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II. Earl worked as a truck driver for Marathon Battery, Wausau Homes, and Hoffer Paint, where he retired at the age of 76.

Earl married Jenny Storm in 1941 and had two children, Larry Louze and Barbara Jean (Mike) Kubowski. He then married Georgiana Schave in 1952 and together they had four children, Dale (Lynn) Louze, Linda (David) Hanke, Lori (Ken) Nelson, and Rich (Patrick Bacher) Louze. Earl married Louanne Tjernlund in 1991.

Earl was an avid hunter until his older years, when he felt sorry for the deer, but remembered many hunting parties. He enjoyed country music, especially his RFD channel. He was an excellent mechanic. He could take apart a motor and put it back together in no time. He made sure all the kids had a car.

Survivors include his wife, Louanne; children, Barbara, Dale, Linda, Lori, and Rich; step-children Steve Daigle and Shane (Dawn) Buchkowski; 19 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Penny L. Schave Lake.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgiana; sister, Flossie Urban Fisher; and son Larry.

A memorial service was held on April 25, 2015, at the Brainard Funeral Home in Wausau.
