IRONWOOD, Mich. - Alice E. Lehto, 81, of Ironwood, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015, in Ironwood.
Alice was born on Jan. 17, 1934, in Wakefield, daughter of the late August and Hilda (Wuorinen) Nieminen. She had been a longtime Ironwood Township resident, and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ironwood.
On Dec. 23, 1955, she was united in marriage with Bertram Lehto in Chicago. Bert preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1997.
Alice is survived by two sons, Keith (Korrin), and Mark (Heidi) both of Ironwood; one daughter, Shelley (David) Suckow of Ironwood; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Lehto Chynoweth of Houghton; 11 grandchildren, Danielle, Christina, Brandy, Chelsea, Matt, Jeremy, Heather, Mackenzie, Daniann, Jason and Daylin; five great-grandchildren, Moses, Poppy, Delainey, Skylor and Arianna; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by one son, Bert; and one grandson, Eli.
Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Ironwood. Rev. Mark Ortman will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday.
Inurnment will be in the Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.
Arrangements are by Range Funeral Service and Crematory, Ketola-Burla Funeral Home of Ironwood.
