Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Lorenzo "Larry" Pasqualucci, 93, passed away with his family by his side at the home of his daughter in Eau Claire.
Larry was born on Feb. 20, 1922, in Montreal, to Joseph and Mary Pasqualucci. He graduated from Hurley High School in 1940. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 to fight in World War II and served on an aircraft carrier, the USS Puget Sound, in the Pacific theater.
When Larry returned home from the war, he married his high school sweetheart, Doris Kruger, on May 4, 1946. They lived in Montreal in the house that he built with his brothers and father.
Larry worked in the iron ore mine and opened his own auto body repair shop. He eventually changed the repair shop into a motel and then an apartment. After the mine closed, Larry and his family moved to Racine and then to Eau Claire, where he worked for the state of Wisconsin in the divisions of Apprenticeship and Training, and Mining Safety. Eventually, he and Doris moved back to Montreal, where she passed away in 1983. Later he moved to Ashland.
Larry enjoyed dancing and playing cribbage, and his family enjoyed eating his homemade cheese ravioli and meatballs. In his younger years, Larry liked fishing, hunting, and any kind of building project.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Jo Pasqualucci, Vermillion, S.D., and Debra Blanchard (Mike), Eau Claire; granddaughter, Lindsey (Ryan); his special friend of 20 years, Bettie Parent, Ashland; sister, Florence Trier, Wausau; brother, James (Elaine), Green Bay; sister-in-law Phyllis Pasqualucci, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his brothers, Bernard (Cisera), August (Nelda), Alfred, and Bino (Bertha); and his sisters, Lucille (Len Volante) and Rose Marie (Dave Trembath).
