IRONWOOD, Mich. — Donna S. Mattson, 71, of Ironwood, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, in her home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1944, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Toivo and Edith (Kivisto) Mattson, attended Roosevelt School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1962. She worked in the family-owned business, Drives and Bearings, in Oshkosh, Wis., for several years, then was employed as an accountant for several businesses in the Fox Valley area, returning to Ironwood and retiring.

Donna was a member of the Ironwood Business and Professional Women’s Club, and was a master gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends.

She was married to Thomas Wiemeri. They later divorced.

Surviving are three daughters, Ruth (Mike) Kalin, California, Gloria (John) Stearns, Wauwatosa, Wis., and Jean Sliwinski, Greenfield, Wis .; a sister, Myla (David) Houle, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Donald Mattson.

Per Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
