Ironwood - During winter break, area children celebrated Christmas early with a party at Ironwood Carnegie Library Tuesday afternoon.

Dressed in Christmas attire, Assistant Library Director Lynne Wiercinski said children decorated Christmas cookies and made festive crafts.

With the smell of sugar in the air, children decorated cookies using several types of candy, colored frosting and sprinkles.

In the other room, children worked on arts and crafts. They made reindeer faces and ornaments.

To make the reindeer faces, children used paper plates and glued on antlers and "googly eyes." At another table, kids decorated strips of paper using stickers to make ornaments and then glued the strips into shape.
