L’ANSE, Mich. — Donald G. Budd Sr., of Kenton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Bayside Village in L’Anse.
He was born June 16, 1929, in Kenton, to the late Franklin and Florence (Trembley) Budd. On Sept. 28, 1956, Donald was united in marriage to Gladys Marie Bonin.
Donald worked as a self-employed logger until his retirement. During his younger years, he enjoyed track while in high school. Later in life he loved hunting, fishing and trapping. Donald also enjoyed his vegetable garden and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys; a brother, Franklin Budd; and a sister, Madonna Budd Pinar.
Donald is survived by his children, Roger (Jo Ann) Silk, Michael (Dora) Silk, Donald (Sandie) Budd Jr., Shirley Fowler, Florence (Kenneth) Perttula, Thomas (Tami) Budd and Richard (Stephanie) Budd, seven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home-Bruce Crossing Chapel in Bruce Crossing. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the start of the service.
