THE NORTH side of a McLeod Avenue building collapsed into an alleyway over the weekend in downtown Ironwood. The alley was passable on Monday afternoon.

IRONWOOD - Over the weekend, Ironwood Public Safety Department received two complaints of building damage from heavy snow or ice.
Weekend rain may have added weight to the snow and ice causing damage to the structures.
The IPSD received a call from Ron Huotari that a building connected to the old Jones Hotel on McLeod Avenue had collapsed and fallen into the alley.
Two IPSD officers responded and they found the alley was impassable because of the fallen debris from the building. The rear portion of the building had collapsed onto the roadway.
