Ewen — The Ewen-Trout Creek School District's request for the renewal of its operational millage for another 10 years was overwhelmingly approved by district voters Tuesday.

The district voted 57.5 percent in favor of the renewal with just 32.3 percent saying no. The actual count of the seven townships which comprise the district was 473 yes and 226 no.

The voters approved the district to levy the statutory rate, not to exceed 18 mils on all property except the principal residence of voters or those exempted. This operational millage is required for the district to receive its pupil foundation grant from the state. The estimated revenue the school district will collect is approximately $1,285,343.
