Edith M. Applekamp

EWEN, Mich. — Edith M. Applekamp passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 3, 2016.

Born May 24, 1938, to the late Ernest and Elsie Lindsey in Hulbert. As a child, she and her family moved to Ewen where she spent the rest of her life. Edith was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland. Edith loved cooking and baking, tending to her flowers, crocheting and was awed by nature.

Edith is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children, Gerald (Nita) Platzke, Ontonagon, Joel (Dawn) Platzke, Princeton, Minn., Barbara Perttula, Fridley, Minn., Dennis Morrison, Ontonagon, Mark (Anne) Morrison, Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Stacy Morrison, Iron River. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert, Charles, Thomas and David. Edith was blessed with 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Corlas Morrison; five brothers; a sister; and son-in-law, Jay Perttula.

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 6 at 11 a.m. EDT at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Ewen Cemetery immediately following the service.
