Ironwood - All Saints Catholic Academy hosted an open house Thursday evening to ceremoniously cut the ribbon and officially open the school's new infant and toddler room.

Before cutting the ribbon, area residents toured the school. Several people said they were pleased.

Reverend Robb Jurkovich said a prayer and then Emily Lightfoot, lead teacher, Nicole Hissa, pre-school teacher, Don Stanley, of Ironwood and William Ribich, of Ironwood, cut the ribbon together. Following the ceremony, Jurkovich blessed the room with holy water.

Jurkovich said Ribich and Stanley were instrumental in helping fund the new room through "generous" donations.

Inside the new room, there is a section for infants and a section for toddlers that's divided by a small, wooden fence.

In the infant section, Lightfoot said little ones can crawl and roam around. There are bouncers in the infant section.

When they get "more mobile," Lightfoot said children will move over the toddler side.

In the toddler section, there is a play area and lots of toys.

All Saints Catholic Academy will watch over children six weeks to 36 weeks old in the new infant and toddler room, as part of the new Little Lamb program starting in June.
