Virginia R. 'Ginny' Krznarich

 

SUN CITY, Ariz. - Virginia R. "Ginny" Krznarich, 85, a winter resident of Sun City and summer resident of Hurley, Wis., died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, under hospice care in Sun City.

The former Virginia McCoy was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Chicago, daughter of the late Theodore and Esther (Sprang) McCoy. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas Grade School in Milwaukee, then moved to Mauston, Wis., where she graduated from Mauston High School in 1947. She graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 1951, then taught first grade in the Milwaukee Public School System from 1951 until her retirement in 1980.

Ginny was a member of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City and attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, Mich. She was a member of the Gogebic Country Club in Ironwood and the Wisconsin Education Association.

She married Mathew P. "Matt" Krznarich on June 25, 1955, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mauston. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2013.

Surviving are a sister, Sheila (Kenneth) Treml, New Berlin, Wis .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ginny was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary Clare; brothers-in-law, John, Milton and Joseph Krznarich and Bruno Rodeghiero; sisters-in-law, Ardith, Faye and Pat Krznarich and Katherine Rodeghiero; and nephew, Jon Michael Krznarich.

Cremation took place in Arizona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 8, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.

Luncheon will be served at the Elk & Hound on Country Club Road in Ironwood upon return from the cemetery.
