Bessemer - An Ontonagon woman pleaded guilty to two drug charges in Gogebic County Circuit Court in Bessemer Wednesday.

Alyssa Lou Pollard, 25, entered guilty pleas to one count of delivery of cocaine and one count of delivery of a controlled substance on school or library property.

Circuit Judge Michael Pope told Pollard in court the delivery of a controlled substance on school or library property count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of two years. The delivery charge carries a potential 20-year maximum sentence.

Pollard also will have a habitual offender-second offense designation as part of the deal, which increases the maximum penalties she faces.

She pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement that calls for nine other charges against her dropped.

The dropped charges include two counts of delivery of heroin, three counts of conspiracy to deliver, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance on school or library property and three counts of delivery or possession in a park.

The plea agreement also calls for Pollard to serve both sentences at the same time, and be eligible for any Department of Corrections boot camp-style program she qualifies for.

The charges Pollard pleaded to stem from a trip she made to Depot Park in Ironwood on Nov. 23, 2015.

During her hearing, Pollard testified she sold drugs to someone she thought she was helping.

"He had messaged me asking if I knew where to find drugs, because he said he felt sick and that he needed help to get better (by using drugs)," Pollard testified.

While she said she couldn't remember the exact quantity of drugs she sold, or the amount of money she received, she said it was enough for a single use.

Information presented in court said the amount was less than 50 grams.

No sentencing date was scheduled.
