GIANT gets surveillance camera donation

IRONWOOD PUBLIC Safety Department Sgt. Matt Sterbenz, left, and Hurley Police Department Sgt. Don Packmayer accept a donation of four surveillance cameras from Gary Burnett Jr., center, of Burton Industries. Burton donated the cameras to the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team, which Sterbenz leads and Packmayer is a part of, to assist the team with its drug investigations.

IRONWOOD - The Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team has another tool in its arsenal to combat the problem of illegal narcotics on the Gogebic Range, as Burton Industries donated four surveillance cameras to the team.

"Due to the economics in our area we realize it is not easy to always make such donations or sell equipment at a discounted price," a team spokesman said in a news release. "Unfortunately that is true on both sides.
