BESSEMER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Renee A. Babic, 50, of Bessemer Township, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at her home.
She was born Dec. 3, 1966, in Woodruff, Wis., the daughter of the late Vanard and Judith (Holmes) Babic.
Renee attended Mercer (Wis.) Schools. She worked as a housekeeper for Indianhead Ski Resort in Ironwood and Dairyman’s Resort in Boulder Junction, Wis. She enjoyed gardening, hiking and going for rides. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Renee is survived by her two daughters, Ashley (Tim Feldscher) Babic, of Bessemer, and Kimberly (Mike) DeRosso, of Ironwood; five grandchildren, Luke, Joseph, Caleb, Noah and Alice; three sisters, Wanda Holmes, of Bessemer, Valerie Doriot, of Iowa, and Melissa (Bruce) Richards, of Mercer; her special friend, Jim Westeen; her best friend, Sherry Brownell; stepchildren, Chad, Amy, Tina and Pam; many stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her former husband, Hollus Brownell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph Popko.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home in Bessemer. Rev. Jean Rencontre will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
