Pelicans at play

PELICANS ON Lake Superior were spotted by frequent Daily Globe photo contributor Gary Jackson, of Ironwood, on Sunday afternoon. The bird's numbers have increased substantially throughout the country and they've been breeding in the Great Lakes region for at least the past 10 years.
