Shannon T. Green

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Shannon T. Green, 43, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Wakefield, entered eternal life Monday, April 24, 2017.

Shannon was born on Dec. 18, 1973, at Grand View Hospital in Bessemer Township, the beloved daughter of Colleen A. (Burns) and Joseph W. Green Jr. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1992. Shannon enrolled at Northern Michigan University and earned a bachelor's degree in communication.

Shannon was employed as a claims adjuster for Farmers Insurance for about 10 years.

She was a reader at her church. Shannon loved all and was loved by all.

In addition to her parents, Joe and Colleen, she is survived by a brother, Kevin; a nephew, Elliot, and a niece, Meadow. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Robert N. (Nancy) Burns, Patricia (Dan) Gast, Bonnie Schmeltzer and Kelly Laakso; numerous cousins; and the special loves of her life, her kitties, Minnie Gooch and Mico Jon. She was also blessed with many incredible friendships.

Shannon was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Joseph W. and Isabel Green; her maternal grandparents, Robert A. and Veronica Burns; an infant niece, Skylar Anne; and an uncle, David Green.

Cremation will take place.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 29, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 407 Ascherman St., in Wakefield, with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong, celebrant. Also in attendance will be the Immaculate Conception Women's Guild Honor Guard.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.

Luncheon will be served at the church hall upon return from the cemetery.
