Charles Richard Lundberg

WAUSAU, Wis. - Charles Richard Lundberg, 83, of Hurley, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

Born in Wisconsin Rapids, on Jan. 6, 1934, he was the first born son of the late Carl and Evelyn (Renberg) Lundberg. Raised in the Saratoga and Plainfield areas, he graduated from the Plainfield Tri-County High School in 1951.

On June 11, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lillian Sutton. They were blessed with five children.

Charles was a skilled plasterer and drywaller his entire life. He learned this trade from his father, whom he worked side-by-side with in the Wisconsin Rapids area until 1971, then moving his family to Iron Belt. He continued plastering and began working for his brother at the Whitecap Mountain Ski Resort in many areas. He had a passion for sharing his Christian faith with everyone he met and had a true heart of gold.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of almost 62 years, as well as his daughter, Joy (Steve) Peteric; daughter, Tami Lundberg; son, Randy (Barb) Lundberg; daughter, Debbie (Keith) Stoner; daughter, Vicki (John) Binsfeld; as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Priscilla (Jim) Carlson, Lenore (Don) Vorphal, Geanie (Tom) Bower; and brother, David (Evie) Lundberg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin brothers, Jim and John Lundberg; sister, Marjorie Lundberg; and infant brother, Jerry Lundberg.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10, at Woodland Church in Ironwood, Mich., at 11 a.m., with a visitation beforehand at 10 a.m. Pastor Mike Hill will officiate.
