ST. PAUL, Minn. - Marilyn E. Reyns, 88, former longtime Ironwood, Mich., resident, died peacefully Monday morning, Oct. 23, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, with her daughter by her side.

The former Marilyn Koivisto was born March 19, 1929, in Ironwood, to the late Jack and Eleanor (Relich) Koivisto. She attended Ironwood schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1947. She was employed as a sales clerk at Ticknor's Pharmacy in Ironwood until it closed, then at White Cross Pharmacy in Hurley, Wis., for many years, retiring in 2008.

Marilyn was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Woodbury, Minn., and was a member of the Aurora Athletic Club Auxiliary, Hurley Lionettes and the Birthday Club. She enjoyed playing cards and treasured being with her family and many friends.

On June 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to Rene F. Reyns at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood by the late Monsignor J.B. Moriarity. Rene preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1973.

Surviving are a daughter, Paula (Carl) Boeckmann, Woodbury; granddaughter, Addie Boeckmann (James Hynes), Jackson, Wyo .; brother, Jack (Rachel) Koivisto, Crystal Falls, Mich .; two sisters, June West, Hanna, Wyo., and Elaine Osterman, La Habra, Calif .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Alice Koivisto; brothers-in-law, Harold West and Peter Osterman; and longtime companion, Joe "Papa Joe" Ramuscak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church in Ironwood on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.

Luncheon will be served at the Liberty Bell Chalet in downtown Hurley upon return from the cemetery.
