Mark Steven Vizanko

MARSHFIELD, Wis. — Mark Steven Vizanko, 65, of Peeksville, Wis., died on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

He was born on April 28, 1952, in Ironwood, the son of James and Toby (Shurmack) Vizanko.

He graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood, and then earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Michigan Tech in Houghton, Mich. Mark worked as an electrical engineer supervisor for many years and then moved to the Northwoods and started his own business, Buddy Electric, in Butternut.

He was very active in the community, volunteering for the Christian Mission, the Butternut Recycling Plant and the Flambeau Rama celebration in Park Falls. He enjoyed fishing, feeding the deer, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by four sisters, Susan (Bill Schroeder) Vizanko, of Muskegon, Mich., Jane (David) Johnson, of San Diego, Calif., Mina (Brian) Aijala, of Ironwood, and Betsy (Rick) Busakowski, of Arbor Vitae; a sister-in-law, Barb Vizanko, of St. Augustine, Fla .; his apprentice and friend Chris (Jessica Holt) Lawver, of Park Falls; and his former wives, Nancy Rozelle and Nancy Mair.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Chris; his infant brother, Stephen; and his significant other, Debra Lawver.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. at the Novitzke Funeral Home Chapel in Park Falls. Deacon Robert Schienebeck will officiate.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Interment will take place at a later date at Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood.
