Marian C. Reini

BESSEMER TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Marian C. Reini, 88, formerly a long-time resident of Anvil Location, Bessemer Township, passed away peacefully Monday evening, Nov. 27, 2017.

Marian was born on Sept. 12, 1929, at a mining company hospital in Ironwood, a daughter of Julius L. and Lena M. (Favero) Rigotti. She graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer.

Marian lived in Anvil for more than 50 years and worked at the Universal Machine Company, Ramsay School and A.D. Johnston High School.

She and her husband decided to relocate to Illinois. Marian then began a long employment as a secretary and an administrative assistant to the principal at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic School in Prospect Heights.

Throughout her life, she was an accomplished homemaker who took great pride in her cooking and baking.

Family was the center of Marian's life. She will always be remembered as a beloved wife, cherished mother and devoted grandmother, who had a very generous heart and a compassionate nature.

Marian is survived by a son, William (Cheryl), Capitola, Calif .; a grandson, Kyle (Mia), Atlanta, Ga .; three sisters-in-law, Marge Rigotti, Hurley, Wis., Mayme Usitalo, Chelsea, Mich., and Vienna Reini, Peterborough, N.H .; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband of 68 years, Roy W., on June 8, 2016; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice (Vince) Testroet, Bonita (Marshall) Ewert and Jean (Uno) Laine; a brother, Julius "Pepe" Rigotti; and two brothers-in-law, Ray Usitalo and Edwin Reini.

The family will greet relatives and friends Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9 to 9:45 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 210 E. Iron St., in Bessemer, where recitation of the rosary will take place at 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone at Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley, who provided many kindnesses to Marian.
