Mary Kenny

VACAVILLE, Calif. — Mary Frances Kenny passed away after a long illness on March 15, 2018, with her sister and brother-in-law by her side.

Mary was born on April 21, 1945, to Alex and Jennie Powajba of Bessemer, Mich., where she attended local schools and went on to Michigan State University.

Mary joined the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and while stationed at Travis AFB in California, she met and married Don G. Kenny. They lived in Vallejo, Calif., until Don died scuba diving at Fort Ross, Calif., in 1974.

For the last 42 years, Mary made her home in Vacaville, Calif. In 1985, she retired as a manager from AT&T. She had a second career with the Department of Corrections and retired in 1999 as a correctional sergeant from the California Medical Facility.

Mary is survived by two sisters, Helen Lawrence of Venice, Fla., and Renee (Lawrence) Barr of Vacaville, Calif .; one niece; several nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her sweet little short-legged Jack Russell, Holly.
