Mary A. 'Molly' (Schieber) Ceccon

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Mary A. "Molly" (Schieber) Ceccon, age 88, of Ironwood, passed away on March 24, 2018. Molly was born on July 20, 1929, in Crystal Falls, to Gertrude Lundin. On Oct. 5, 1933, Harold and Azaline Schieber legally adopted Molly. She grew up in Wakefield and Ironwood. She was a 1947 graduate of Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood. She also attended Gogebic Community College for a year after graduation.

On Sept. 11, 1949, Molly married William J. Ceccon in Hurley, Wis. She was a former telephone operator. As her children got older, she opened her home to foster children, ran a daycare in her home, and did in home child care for a local family. Molly loved children and caring for children. In her later years, she cared for and loved her dogs and cats. She was also an avid reader.

She is survived by 3 sons: William Ceccon, Jr. of Hurley, Wis .; Micheal (Suzette DeMario) Ceccon of Ironwood, and Brian Ceccon of Tuscon, Ariz., 3 daughters: Karen (Jim) Byrns of Ironwood, Andrea (Dennis) Mackey of Ironwood and Christina (Brian Avery) Ceccon of Ironwood, 11 grandchildren: Jamie (Sarah) Ceccon of Appleton, Wis., Jennifer (Michael) Harderer of Slinger, Wis., Stephanie (Gabe) Justinak of Ironwood, Stacey (Jim) Caine of Pound, Wis., Sarah (Josh) Oja of Grand Rapids, Minn., Caitlin (Michael) Pawlak of Golden Valley, Minn., Jesse (Randy Clark) Mackey, Golden Valley, Minn., Adam (Jessica Mukavitz) Mackey of Menomonie, Wis., William Christopherson of Ironwood, Emily (Shawn Hanson) Viater of Washburn, Wis., and Tyler (Tina Phillips) Huff of Ironwood, great-grandchildren: Hannah and Chloe Ceccon of Appleton, Wis., Jacob, Linsey and Nathan Harderer of Slinger, Wis., Judd and Cy Justiniak of Ironwood, Lyvia, Senya, and James Caine of Pound, Wis., Seija and Sesiilja Oja of Grand Rapids, Minn., Nora and Millie Pawlak of Golden Valley, Minn., Braedyn, Wyatt and Xander Hanson of Washburn, Wis., with an 18th great grandchild due April 10, 2018. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William on Oct. 23, 2002, and brothers and sisters in law Eugene and Alice Ceccon and Jim and June Ceccon.

At Molly's request, no funeral services will be held. Interment will take place this summer in Riverside Cemetery of Ironwood.
