Linnea J. Bishoff

EWEN, Mich. — Linnea J. Bishoff, 71, a long-time resident of Ewen, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 22, 2018, at her home, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Linnea was born on Dec. 2, 1946, in Marquette, a daughter of Ernest and Olga (Seppanen) Cummings. She attended L’Anse High School and graduated in 1965.

On Aug. 25, 1967, Linnea was united in marriage to A. Owen Bishoff at Bethany Lutheran Church in Covington. They made their home in L’Anse until Owen finished forestry school. Then, they moved to Minneapolis for four years. In 1972, they made their home in Ely, Minn., until 1993, when they returned to the Upper Peninsula.

Linnea sold Tupperware and Avon.

She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Linnea is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Bishoff and Cheryl (Leo) Burgmeier, both of Ewen; a son, David (Karen) Bishoff, Eveleth, Minn .; her twin sister, Linda (Edward) Lannet, Bruce Crossing; her brother-in-law, Niles Eilertsen, Washburn, Wis .; her sister-in-law, Rosemary Vesel, Ely; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Owen; two brothers, Walfred Cummings and Ernest Cummings Jr .; a sister, Mary Ann Eilertsen; and two brothers-in-law, Leroy Bishoff and John Vesel.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 27, at noon EDT, preceded by visitation at 11:30 a.m. EDT, at Bruce Crossing Bible Church, with the Rev. Steven Washburn officiating.

Luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall following the service.

Interment will take place in Ely in the summer.
