Charges pending in fatal Saxon crash

HURLEY — Charges are pending in the March 27 logging truck-car accident on U.S. 2 in Saxon, Wis., that resulted in the death of a former Ironwood resident.

Amanda Schiiller, 31, of Menominee, was a passenger in a car driven by Jesse Gasper, 34, of Duluth, who was seriously injured in the crash.

Iron County District Attorney Matthew Tingstad said Tuesday he was awaiting some test results before issuing charges in a continuing Iron County Sheriff’s Department investigation.
