Marie Eggleston conducts the Gogebic Range Concert Band at its first evening concert of the season in Longyear Park Tuesday. Donations at the concert went to HOPE Animal Shelter. HOPE Director Randy Kirchhoff was in attendance with Maggie, one of the dogs available for adoption at the shelter in Ironwood. He said the new Dog Park on the corner of Bonnie and Ayer streets - a collaboration between HOPE and the Friends of the Miners Memorial Park - is open, but a grand opening will be held in July. The band will hold concerts at Longyear again on June 19, Aug. 14 and Aug. 28. It will also play in Eddy Park in Wakefield on July 3, in the Bessemer 4th of July parade and at Festival Ironwood on July 21.
