Julia (Kleimola) Zielinski

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Julia (Kleimola) Zielinski, 84, a long-time resident of Wakefield, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 25, 2018.

Julia was born on Dec. 6, 1933, in Ironwood, a daughter of Walter and Ida (Manninen) Kleimola. She attended Luther L. Wright High School and graduated in 1952.

On Oct. 23, 1954, Julia married the love of her life, Anthony F. "Tony" Zielinski, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield. They made their home in Wakefield and were blessed with three children.

Julie was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a supporting member of its women's guild. She was a talented seamstress and an excellent cook.

Julie is survived by two sons, Mark (Denise), Solon Springs, Wis., and David (Mariane), Bessemer; a daughter, Maureen (Dan) Dahlquist, Forest Lake, Minn .; five cherished grandchildren, Nick Zielinski, Rebecca (Justin) Knoll and Jake, Ben and Luke Zielinski; three great-grandchildren, Alaina Zielinski and Zander and Jaxson Knoll; a brother, Paul (Phyllis) Kleimola, Ironwood Township; her sister-in-law, Della Kleimola, Bessemer; her brother-in-law, Bob Cannon, Ironwood; and numerous dear nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Tony, on July 6, 2010; two brothers, Walter N. and Gordon Kleimola; and three sisters, Nancy Leskoviansky, Mildred DuRay and Shirley Cannon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 407 Ascherman St., Wakefield, with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong, celebrant. Also in attendance will be the Immaculate Conception Women's Guild Honor Guard.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.

Luncheon will be served at the church hall immediately upon return from the cemetery.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the caring staff at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield, who provided many kindnesses to Julie and her family.
