Mary Ruth Cigallio

October 5, 2018

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Mary Ruth Cigallio, 93, passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2018, at the Douglasville Nursing and Rehab Center in Douglasville.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al J. Cigallio, and son, Charles Peter Cigallio. She leaves behind her loving son, Edward J. Cigallio, his wife, Glenna G. Cigallio, and two granddaughters, Sarah Rachel and Mary Gwen.

Mary was born to Peter and Nettie Jordan in Hurley, Wis., on June 26, 1925. She met her future husband, Al, in Paul's Store and they married on Sept. 23, 1950. She moved to Alexandria, Kentucky, in 1965 and raised her two boys.

She devoted time to St. Mary's Parish and Catholic School.

Mary was an exceptional mother. Her love and devotion to her family was without compare. She made sure her sons were exposed to any learning opportunity available. Her life's labor was the protecting and nourishing of her family. No greater vocation exists.

Mary possessed a boundless compassion for people and animals. She never met a stranger and those who did meet her were better for it.
